
Professor Ir. Dr Norhaliza Abdul Wahab
Biography of Prof. Dr.Athakorn Kengpol :
Ir. Dr. Norhaliza Abdul Wahab is the Professor in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Dr. Norhaliza received her Ph.D in Electrical Engineering majoring in Control from the University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom in July 2009. She is actively involved in researching and teaching in the field of modelling and simulation, artificial intelligence, control and optimizations. She served as Chairman of Malaysian Simulation Society (MSS). Her expertise is in industrial automation engineering. She has devoted her research to control and automation of water systems, industrial processes, and manufacturing system through national and international research collaborations. Her research group currently focuses on industrial control automation, with an emphasis on applying machine learning and deep learning to support the sustainable development of water treatment technologies supported by national (UTM High Impact grant) and international Collaborative Research Networking Grant (Spain). Another collaboration work is safe and flexible manufacturing focusing on cyber-physical system and intelligent computing system supported by international (Indonesia) Collaborative Research Matching Grant. Integration of engineering and process control together with intelligent computing is her recent research interest.

In this keynote, Prof. Norhaliza A. Wahab will present her extensive research on the application of intelligent computing to controller design and optimization for continuous industrial process control systems. The talk will cover both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of integrating intelligent computing with engineering and process control, exploring how advanced computational techniques, including data-driven and AI-based approaches, are transforming conventional control strategies. These concepts and their implications for next-generation industrial process control will be a central focus of the keynote.
